You Don’t Have to Exercise to Be Fit!

You don’t have to exercise to be fit! What a concept. Actually, the word exercise is what scares people off. I don’t like to use the “E” word. Increase you level of activity every day and you have taken the first step towards developing an active lifestyle.
Try this - every day in the next week add three minutes of a new activity to your day:
1. Take the stairs at the office.
2. Walk around the soccer field during your child’s practice game.
3. Park in the farthest spot from the store in the parking lot.
You get the idea. Make that first commitment to go outside your comfort zone. If you did nothing before and only do something active ONE day this week, that’s a 100% improvement. The activities don’t have to be regimented, they just have to be done.
Mark your active days on a calendar and look at those check marks. Applaud your first steps to becoming fit. Each week try and increase you active time by an additional three minutes. Try to do thirty minutes per day. They don’t even have to be thirty minutes in a row! Just move!
